Akon Joins Nigerians To Protest Against SARS And SWAT

American based Senegalese singer, Akon, has joined the Nigerian populace to protest against SARS and the newly formed SWAT unit of the police force.

The inspector general of police Mohammed Adamu today, Tuesday, October 13 announced the dissolution of SARS and in its stead brought in SWAT.

Nigerians have started a new social media campaign to get the SWAT unit also dismissed with immediate effect as they believe it’s just another name change.

The protests which have lasted for the past five days have caught the attention of the world and people are lending their voices to the movement on social media.

Akon has decided to join the recent protest. He took to twitter to write that, he was in full support of his Nigerian brothers and sisters.

He wrote: “🇳🇬Nigeria is one of the country i love so much and i wanna join my Little bro @wizkidayo to protest SARS, so i say together we will #EndSWAT and #SARSMUSTENDNOW”
