DJ Cuppy Laments Her Inability To Join #EndSARS Protest On The Streets

Nigerian singer and disc jockey, Florence Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy has taken to twitter to lament about her inability to join her fellow citizens to protest against SARS brutalities in the country.

The artiste returned to Nigeria from overseas a couple of days ago and as part of the protocols for Covid-19, she’s supposed to self-isolate for a period of two weeks.

It’s within this period that her fellow celebrities are leading the youth to protest and demand the dissolution of SARS.

She’s been doing the social media advocacy but now wished she was part of the protesters on the streets. In a series of tweets on her verified twitter handle, she lamented about the situation she finds herself now.

She tweeted: “I don’t think I’ve EVER been this frustrated in my life! #SarsMustEndNow”

She added in a subsequent tweet: “As much as I’m currently doing all that I CAN whilst here in quarantine, honestly it DOES NOT feel the same as being out on the streets making history with my fellow Nigerian youth”

The Nigerian youth are demanding the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad following their way of dealing with citizens.

Their demands have been met but they’re still pressing for the release of some arrested protesters and compensation for families who lost relatives through the protest.
