“Enough Is Enough” – IGP Declares War On Shop Looters

The inspector general of the Nigerian police force, Mohammed Adamu has asked that the police should mobilize themselves to take over the streets and chase away hoodlums who are parading as protesters and looting shops.

He instructed all Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs), Commissioners of Police (CPs), Heads of Police Operational Units, Squadron and Base Commanders in charge of Zonal/State/FCT Commands, the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit and the Special Protection Unit, today to immediately deploy men onto the streets.

The End SARS protest which started peacefully has turned into something else in the last couple of days.

There has been pockets of violence in the process where some hoodlums parading as protesters have hijacked the protest and are looting shops belonging to other civilians.

There has also been reports of other criminal activities beign carried out by these thugs.

They were in the news recently for breaking Prisons and freeing inmates in their thousands and also attacking police stations and burning them down.

The IGP’s call is in the right direction and it will help restore peace and orderliness on the streets of Nigeria.

The IGP, Mohammed Adamu also assured law abiding citizens of their safety and told them to go about their normal business without panic.
