Returning Looted Items May Not Shield You From Being Prosecuted – Police Command
The police commissioner for the FCT command, Bala Ciroma has hinted that those who have returned items they looted from the state and or private citizens may still be Prosecuted according to the law.
He made this remarks when he granted an interview to NTA on Wednesday, October 28. He maintained that returning the looted items does not negate the fact that the looters committed an offence.

He said: “In a situation where people come to return goods, the fact remains did you commit an offence or not? We will get our legal experts to look at it and we will decide what to do with it.
We will conclude our investigations and the legal experts will look at it accordingly but the fact remains that a crime has been committed.”

You will recall that, the End SARS protest was hijacked by hoodlums who went on rampage, attacking state security installations and looting items belonging to the public and private individuals.
There was a 72-hour ultimatum given for the looters to return the items or be tracked down and brought to book in accordance with the law.
