CNN Journalist Narrates How A Restaurant In Lagos Refused Her Entry Because She’s A Woman

A Nigerian journalist working with America based CNN, Aisha Salaudeen together with another female friend were allegedly thrown out of a restaurant in Lagos because they were women.

Aisha took to micro blogging platform, twitter to share her daunting ordeal at the restaurant with her followers.

According to her, she’s a regular customer at the restaurant whenever she’s in Nigeria but got the shock of her life yesterday when she was told that she couldn’t enter because she was a woman and for which reason she needed to be chaperoned by a man before she could be allowed to eat in the restaurant.

She gave the name of the restaurant as Harzoyka, located in GRA Ikeja in Lagos. She had to resort to a different restaurant to have her meals.

“I got kicked out of Harzoyka restaurant in GRA Ikeja today because according to them, they have a new policy – no women allowed. This is a restaurant I’ve visited multiple times in the past few years.”

“When I pressed about why I was been hushed out, I was told that to eat in there I had to be chaperoned by a man. I was too stunned to comment, I cannot have a meal because I’m a woman? @MsAdeola and I had to eat somewhere else”, she narrated.
