“I’ve Been On The Move Because The Military Are After Me” – DJ Switch Narrates

Popular Nigerian disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh famed in the entertainment industry as DJ Switch while appearing before the Sub-committee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the Canadian parliament narrated that she’s been on the run because her life is in danger.

The disc jockey captured the whole shooting incident at the Lekki toll gate on the 20th of October, 2020 by going live on Instagram whiles the whole incident was going on.

In her narration, she debunked the Nigerian army’s position that they shot blank bullets in the air to help control the crowd.

She told the Canadian parliament how she escaped from Nigeria and why she’s still on the run. Below are her words.

“I have been on the move because they have been after my life. The first threat came in, I thought it was a joke, I sincerely thought it was a joke.

“Just as I was leaving, I got a phone call that I should leave the vicinity because there are military men at the hospital.

“I had to abandon my home, I moved from people’s home, and then just to get out of Nigeria. I am still travelling, and I am not done with my trip.”
