Nigerian Celebrities Jump To The Defense Of DJ Switch

Nigerian celebrities have started a campaign to defend DJ Switch against persecution and harassment from the authorities.

The disc jockey was the one who streamed the Lekki toll gate shooting on her Instagram page on the 20th of October, 2020.

This singular act drew the attention of the world to the scene and also showcased the atrocities that was committed by security operatives at the scene.

Ever since the incident happened, the disc jockey has been on the run because her life has been threatened. She’s now given asylum in Canada and has also briefed the Canadian parliament on what happened that faithful night.

The celebrities have now joined forces to reject harassment and persecution of the DJ. They have devised a message that is been circulated on social media.

One of the key proponents of the End SARS protest, Burna Boy has also joined the tall list of celebrities circulating such message.

The message reads: “DJ SWITCH DID NOT MAKE ALLEGATIONS. SHE STREAMED THE SHOOTING ON INSTAGRAM LIVE.”
