Few weeks after she was reappointed as Special assistant on Culture and Tourism in Akwa Ibom, actress Ini Edo has bagged another appointment with National Democratic Institute.

Actress Ini Edo was appointed as part of the Organization’s goal to Increase women’s representation in public offices and Ini Edo will be acting in a position to empower women.

The actress shared her excitement and pledged to work hand in hand with influential Nigerians to ensure that women fully participate in the country’s electoral system.

Ini Edo also said she would address the issue of violence against women especially during elections in her new capacity.

“I won’t be alone; we all will be united in the cause of amending laws to enable women to compete successfully for elect office in our country” she said.

Gifted Nigerian movie maker, Genevieve Nnaji has been appointed as an ambassador for this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2020).

Genevieve joins 50 of the world’s top actors and filmmakers invited by TIFF as ambassadors for the event.

This year, the film festival will adopt digital screenings and virtual red carpers for the event due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The invitees includes ace Chinese actor Donnie Yen, Priyanka Chopra, French actor Julie Delpy; Italian actor Isabella Rossellini, and others.

The festival is scheduled to kick off from September 10 to September 19, 2020 and the ambassadors will be engaged with the audiences via interactive digital experiences.
