The list dubbed ‘The most-watched homegrown artists across Africa’ sought to unearth the top five artistes in 2019 some countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Algeria and others based on their views.

Naira Marley topped with 17.6 million views on his his music video followed by Davido with 11.67 million views on his song Fall. Burna Boy placed third with 9.6 Million views, Mercy Chinwo and Kizz Daniel occupied the 4th and 5th position.

As done annually, the list compiled by the music industry to announce the most-watched artists across Africa from Afrobeats to other genres in 11 African countries based on a year of local YouTube views, the ‘Mo Ne Yo’ songstress came as the fourth most-viewed digital act in Ghana.

The gospel songstress topped the charts with 13.26 million views, followed by BET’s Best International Flow rapper, Sarkodie with 11.72 million views, leaving Stonebwoy with the third position with 7.86 million views.

From the list, Gospel musician Diana Hamilton came fourth, garnering 6.42 million views ahead of Highlife singer Kofi Kinaata who came last on the list for Ghana with 4.63 million views. The songstress happily took to her page on Instagram to share her latest achievement.

SM Boss, Charles Nii Armah ‘Shatta Wale‘ Mensah Jr. has been ranked as the top most musician in Ghana by music chart ranking company Billboard.

Shatta’s stars must be aligned this year as the rank is not the only good news he has received over the last few weeks. He was recently featured on BBC and had his face slapped over Times Square in New York.

The self acclaimed dancehall king however said it was sad to have the world recognize him as the best but his homeland sees him as the least.
