Do you remember Efia Odo was part of those so-called celebrities who were at the Kempiski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra for a meet and greet event with Cardi B?

As a result of the shame that accompanied the ‘meet and greet’ saga, it became an issue and the talk of town and the question arose that who even qualifies to be a celebrity in Ghana.

Per the definition that most people gave, it tends to mean that if you consider Efia Odo, for example, she in fact qualifies to be called a celeb because after all, she’s often talked about in the media.

Case in point is this very article! But the Ghanaian socialite took to her twitter page to debunk the assertion that she is a celebrity.

According to Efia, she doesn’t consider herself as a celebrity. She claims to be only living her life- which perhaps journalist take interest to write and publish stories about.

It should be noted that Efia Odo, whose real name is Andrea Owusu, was a former U.S based assistant nurse and having relocated to Ghana, is an actress and TV personality.

But if she claims she isn’t a celebrity then so be it. At least that is one less of those celebrities who went to tarnish the image of Ghana to the world just because they wanted to meet with Cardi B.

Efia Odo’s tweet reads as follows: “I AINT A FUKN CELEBRITY! I’m just a bad bitch living her fukn life.”

BBNaija star Mercy Eke has bemoaned her celebrity status, saying that her life looks rosy on social media but it’s really anything but.

In a live video she engaged her followers with on Instagram, Mercy stated that she wants her old life back, adding that she wants to go back to the time when she could sleep and wake up whenever she wants without disturbance.

Remembering his roots, BBNaija star Mike Edwards has dropped the curtain on what used to be his former life before he joined the Big Brother Nigeria reality show.

He further divulged that last year, he was a homeless athlete poised to represent Nigeria, but currently he’s a house hold name and a celebrity.

Mike wrote ;
‘Since I’ve left Big Brother House I haven’t really explained what’s been going on and when my fans will get to see me next, so here’s a little update on the situation & my life overall.

I’ve been out of Big Brother’s house 3 weeks now. I’ve stayed in 2 hotels, 1 apartment, and I’l be moving to another location soon. I’m loving every minute of being back on home soil and spending quality time exploring lagos with my beautiful wife, this city is so electric and fulfilling.

I came with a goal to make the most of the opportunity of a lifetime and I’m embracing the uncertainty of it all. I’ve had to figure out how to maneuver in Lagos traffic.

I learned that I can’t just walk into a local grocery store or bank because I cause too much attention, plus I hardly ever turn down a selfie with my people

I’ve had some incredible opportunities present themselves already, and it’s exciting thinking about the plans. Taking a leap of faith into the unknown is daunting, but it’s honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m going to keep doing these flash life updates of how I’m transitioning back to Nigeria….“

Nadia Buari: She is one of most secretive stars in the country. Nadia has four kids and none of them have a face we can link them with on social media. Though she flaunts her daughters, she manages to keep their faces off.

Becca: Songstress Becca Acheampong had a baby not long, but has kept Ghanaians in the dark concerning her child. Though it’s rumoured that she had a baby boy, we can’t put a face to her baby.

Nana Ama McBrown: The actress had a baby girl a few months ago. She has also kept her child’s face off social media, though she flaunts her a few times.

Ama K. Abebrese: The UK-based Ghanaian actress is rumored to be married to a mixed race man in the UK, and even has a baby out of her marriage. But not much else is known except that Ama’s baby is a girl.
