Veteran Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa has written a long letter of apology to his daughter, Dewy after the two engaged in a media war some few days ago.

Earlier last week, Charly Boy as he’s fondly called, took to Instagram and revealed that one of his children was a l3sß!@ñ and he was very grateful for such an experience.

He narrated how he reacted when his daughter called and told him about her s3×u@l!ty.

His daughter hit back and criticized her dad of chasing clout on social media. She added that her father’s narration on social media is totally different from what actually happened.

Charly Boy has now rendered an apology to his daughter, Dewy. Read below his letter of apology.

“My Dear Dewy,

I know the last few days may have been tough for you flowing from my Friday post
“For Parents Only” on my Instagram.

I apologize if my post rubbed you the wrong way, for this I am deeply sorry, my bad.
Forgive me.

“But Honestly, I was talking to parents trying to get them to understand that they-can only give good advice or put their children on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.

“I came into parenting the way most of us did — knowing nothing but trying to learn everything, becos, who no go no fit know.
The journey of parenthood is an emotional roller-coaster, filled with happiness, sadness, worries, frustration, pride, excitement and much more. Parenting is an amazing adventure.

“When people dey yab me say you dey tackle me for social media, I just dey laff.
I dey laff bcos Na so I tackle my papa before I collect my independence. Lion no fit born goat. Never forget that the Oputa’s are very special people, and in you I see me.

“Since Saturday morning I have received thousands of phone calls from parents and young people who feel disconnected with their parents. Their testimony has been quite insightful.

I was only able to offer a listening ear and soothing words, but I feel taller because our story inspired thousands.
That’s a good thing.

“My darling, I promise to allow you tell your story like I have been able to tell mine. I respect your perspectives and I understand. I brought you all up as Global Kids and not as timid village champions.

“Let’s just go back to the friendship we have been working on.

Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, known in the showbiz industry as Charly Boy has alleged that homos3×u@lity is on the rise in Nigeria.

Reacting to the media war that is currently going on between him and his l3sß!@n daughter, Dewy, the veteran singer revealed that he gave an opportunity to those who were LGBTQs but didn’t have anybody to speak to call him yesterday.

In his narration, he received more than one thousand calls and he stayed on the phone for hours speaking to people who are associated with LGBTQ.

He alleged also that, homos3×u@l!ty is everywhere including the seat of the central government. He therefore advised that people needed to show LGBTQ people more love.

I swear Parenting is not an easy somethingoooo.

“My post a few days ago, about my daughters
right to her sexuality, opened my eyes and exposed me to
the Huge growing community of LGTBQ’s in Nigeria.
Ol boy, e shock me. I can’t lie.

“My People, as I wake yesterday I setup a hotline for young people who have challenges communicating with their parent/parents, who needed a listening ear. I was on the phone, from 9am till 11.45pm,
recorded over a thousand calls before I lost count. I had to shut down, my ears don full. I heard stories dat made me teary eyed, the emotional trauma the LGTBQs community is going through amongst the numerous wahala we face in dis country.

“Parents must understand that sometimes their child will probably not live the life they dreamed for them and this has nothing to do with being good parents or bad parents. Our influence and nurture for our kids it’s not more than 25%, 75% of their lives is under attack by external influences, social media, peer pressure, what they pickup in school, etc etc.

“We should sometimes allow our children to unfold but not without guidance and laying good values, morals, believe in self and always encouraging them to be their authentic self, as they grow.

“Our children have their own hang ups you must know., weather you feel they are childish, immature or fall short of your picture of them. They’ve struggles too and suffer from internal turmoil—don’t make them feel any worse. Imagine their internal struggle when these confusing feelings arise.

“Our society is filled with hypocrisy, lesbianism/homosexuality started way before social media, predominantly in the north. Now, it in our churches, Nollywood, House of assembly, even in Aso Rock, it’s everywhere my People, and we must educate ourselves to have a better understanding of this phenomenon.”

The artiste has been trending for the past few days for acknowledging publicly that his daughter, Dewy Oputa is a l3sß!@n and he’s grateful for the experience.

In a new social media post, he gave some tips to look out for in a parent that would qualify the fellow as a good parent.

According to the veteran artiste, any f00l can give birth and call himself or herself a parent but a good parent is one who puts his or her children above their selfish needs.

In a lengthy post, the musician revealed that he’s very grateful for the experience of having a daughter whose s3×u@l orientation is different from the “normal”.

He recounted what he had to go through the first time his daughter called to tell him about being a l3sß!@ñ.

The LGBT rights activist added that, he had to just accept it as it is because that is what the daughter wants and he respects the happiness of this children first before any other thing.

”For Parents Only.
About 4yrs ago, my last Princess of the house called me from America, from her tone I was bracing up for whatever she was about to tell me especially when she kept saying to me, “daddy promise me you won’t get mad at me, or give up on me”

I am close with my children and I love dem to bits. They are my friend. But I wasn’t really ready for the “breaking news” my Princess Dewy had for me.

When my child told me she is g@y, a l3sß!@ñ, I experienced a range of emotions, during dat phone conversation.
So many things went through my mind, one of them included self-blame (“Did I do something wrong?”) (“The child I thought I knew and loved no longer exists.”), worry (“Will my child be discriminated against?) religious confusion (“Is my child damned to spend eternity in hell?”), and stigma (“What will people think of my child? Of me?”).

However, I kept pinching myself to calm down because I didn’t want my baby to shy away from me or for us to have a strained relationship. I loved my baby far too much.
I first took a deep breath. And all I could say was, “are you sure?”

I was hoping it was a prank but it was happening in real time.
Even though I was unusually calm through that conversation, my mind was wondering in all direction.

Months before this incident, I was lending my voice in support of LGTB rights in Nigeria.
Is life playing tricks on me. Now my daughter is g@y, why do I feel disappointed? Am I a hypocrite? How do I handle this bomb shell?
I have faced many challenges in my life and won, I was determined to win this too. All I want is my Princesses Love, happiness and Success in her life anything else is secondary. I told myself that I will get through this, and many months later I did.

As a matter of fact, I now look back and find that I am grateful for the experience of having a gay or l3sß!@ñ child.

Nothing can come between me and any of my beautiful children. It is stupid to even think that having a g@y child means that parents have failed. That’s some pedestrian thinking.
Me, I love my gay daughter oooo because she has put some colors into my life too.
Acceptance of the truth is like surgery. It hurts but cures. Lie is like a pain killer. It gives instant relief but it’s side effects can last forever.

I am proud when I say,
God has brought peace to my confusion, joy to my sadness and hope to my heart.
I love you Dewy”

Veteran Nigerian singer, Charly Boy has reacted to the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed after she accused DJ Switch over her role in the End SARS protest.

Recall that DJ Switch went live on her Instagram page on the night that soldiers were killing innocent protesters at the Lekki toll gate on October, 20.

The minister said DJ Switch is one of the many spreading fake news about Nigeria. She also questioned her motive for streaming the incident live on Instagram.

The veteran singer, Charly Boy took to his Twitter page and showered praises on DJ Switch, saying that she has grabbed the dictatorship government of Nigeria by the balls and is squeezing them harder.

He wrote: “Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you,the gorgeous lady who has the dictatorship Nigerian government by the balls right now and she is squeezing extremely hard. Her name is DJ Switch and boy, is she switching on the heat on the repressive government of Buhari.”
