Social media users are calling for the full force of the law to take charge after photos of APC governors organized a mammoth rally in Edo state breaking all the COVID-19 protocols.

Senator Shehu Sani took to twitter to blast the NCDC and the Presidential Task force of COVID-19 for overlooking such huge ‘crime’ but punished Naira Marley for the same.

Naira Marley performed at a Drive in concert in Lagos and was arraigned before court and fined for breaking of COVID-19 protocol.

Non of the COVID-19 protocols were followed at the rally with people packed to the capacity of the venue with no room left.

The senator tweeted, ”Where is Justice if Naira Marley can be arrested,tried and fined for violating the #COVID?19 protocols while the Edo Political Campaigns rallies goes unchallenged by the law,by the @NCDCgov  and by the PTF?

“The @NCDCgov d the PTF on #COVID19 loses the moral right to insist on d closure of Worshiping Centres,Schools & sports as long as they choose to remain silent on d political campaign rally in Benin which openly violated all d preventive protocols that convicted Naira Marley.”

Many users agreed with the senator including Nigerian musician Rudeboy of P Square fame.

Nigeria’s positive COVID-19 cases have reached 5,162 as 193 new cases were recorded on Thursday, May 14, 2020.

58 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 46 in Kano, 35 in Jigawa, 12 in Yobe, 9 in FCT, 7 in Ogun, 5 in Plateau and Gombe, 4 in Imo, 3 in Edo, Kwara and Borno,and 1 in Bauchi, Nasarawa, and in Ondo,according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) .

The Disease Control Centre also reported that two of its cases reported from Kaduna on Wednesday, May 13 were repeated test, which means, Kaduna has 114 confirmed cases.

All these brings the country to 5,162 confirmed cases of the novel virus with an impressive number of 1180 recoveries and 167 deaths as at Thursday, May 14, 2020.

AfricaCelebrities.Com has gathered reports from the Federal State of Nigeria which indicates that 11 people who were being treated for the coronavirus in the Isolation Centre has recovered.

In a similar development, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 10 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of recorded cases to 184.

The Health Directorate in a press briefing further indicates that they have increased their testing capacity and can now test 1,500 people a day.

Mr Osagie Ehanire who happens to be the Health Minister of Nigeria confirmed that the country was seeing early signs of community transmission, and he expected an increase in the number of people contracting the virus.
