H.E Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria, has hit at critics saying he does not care what anyone says about him when he dies.

This comes after the former president’s controversial condolence message on the death of Buruji Kashamu, a former senator and factional leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.

Obasanjo said the late Kashamu who was wanted in the United State of America for alleged drug offenses escaped justice but death caught up with him.

The former President’s comment called for some reaction from some notable Nigerian personalities but in an interview with Premium Times, he said he does not care.

“As you know, I say my mind as truthfully as I know them and in line with my convictions. People are free to say whatever they want about my comment. I don’t begrudge people for holding opinions on whatever I say or do.

“Let people say whatever they like when I transit. Now that I am alive, am I not being abused? Whenever I transit, let people say whatever they know or think about me. Let them say it as it is. What my maker thinks of me is what matters most.”

Big Brother Naija housemate Rebecca Nengi Hampson has slapped her critics with achievements she has clocked at a young age of 22.

Nengi complained to fellow housemate Prince how Lucy openly told her she has nothing to offer aside flirting with the boys in the house.

According to Nengi, it will take Lucy and other ladies in the house years to have what she has achieved at 22.

“So, somebody will look at me and ask me what I have to offer. I don’t have to prove anything to anybody, but what I have achieved at 22, it’s going to take those people some years” she said.

RuffTown Records signee, Wendy Shay has said her critics are intimidated by her fast rise.

According to her, if she had been any less strong, she would have quit music.

Since her introduction as an artist on Ruff Town Records, everything she has done has received backlash and sometimes it seems she can’t catch a break.

Perhaps, the impression created that she is a replacement for people’s darling, the late Ebony Reigns, has seen her been treated in such harsh manner.

In answer to what she thought may be other factors for all the negativity she had encountered, Wendy Shay she said her fast rise also created problems.

“You know, my fast rise is also part, it is something new. I came and I was making a lot of impact in a short time; people are scared of change, my fast success intimidated people so they came at me but I am really cool now,” she said.

According to Wendy Shay, all the negativity got to her at a point.

“It drained me, I got worried because I never said anything like that. Again, I felt I was not welcomed to my home and it was a big blow to me.

“Back in Germany, I was fighting the issue of racism so I thought coming home would have been the better choice but I was welcomed with all these things and at a point, I asked myself why me. I just didn’t get it, everything I do, people had issues with it.

“I used to ask myself that if I was not welcome home then where else will I be because I love my country. Then at a point I told myself, I will stay and fight till the end because I don’t have anywhere to go,” she revealed.

The situation, according to Wendy Shay, has strengthened her.

“I have developed thick skin over time so it does not really get to me again. I have created some kind of shield around me,” she stated.

Gospel songstress Nicah the Queen caused an uproar on social media after uploading a video of herself dancing in her living room. The musician who is no stranger to body shaming has once again been criticized over her dress code in the uploaded video.

In the video posted on her Instagram page earlier this week, Nicah dances to Rose Muhando’s new song ‘Walionicheka’. She was however dressed in a loose-fitting floral dress that exposed her thighs. Critics deemed the dress as too revealing because it accentuated her cleavage as well. Nicah’s dance moves also seemed to agitate some users despite the fact that she danced with her daughter. The singer captioned the video saying “Thank you God for the peace and Joy that’s in my house. The praises in my house this night is on another level. Without you God I’m nothing!! I have every reason to be grateful. Ringtoneapoko this song is amazing….been jamming to it since.”
It did not take long after posting before IG users called out the artist. One follower told her to dress in clothes worthy of giving praise “Vaa nguo za praise basi.” wrote the user. Another wrote “She just wants to expose her legs just like she always does.. We aren’t foolish!”

Just like in the past, Nicah fought back saying “I can wear whatever I like in my house. I can praise even naked. What’s your own?”

Kenyan musician Akothee never fails to make it to the headlines. Earlier this year, the musician received some serious backlash aka shade in her career because of her controversial performance at an event at Papa Remo Beach in Watamu. Critics judged her skimpy outfit during the show and raunchy dance moves. At the time, one of her number one haters was self proclaimed ‘morality cop’ Ezekiel Mutua who went ahead to make the following comments about the singer to the public.

“Akothee is talented but the filthy and stupids stunts she has to pull to remain relevant should concern all of us. What’s worse is to see grown-up men and women celebrating this scatological obscenity in the name of entertainment. We have lost it as a nation. People like Akothee cannot be the role models for our daughters. Music doesn’t have to be dirty to sell. How I wish artists like Akothee would know how much influence they have on our youths and try to use that influence to produce content that is edifying. This kind is crass, moronic and a theater of the absurd. It’s demonic to the core and only appeals to debilitating and incorrigible perverts and brainless audiences. Akothee must stop this idiosyncrasy. There’s no dignity in for her or her audience.”

Fast forward to today and Akothee appears to be the winner in the situation – the one who got the last laugh. According to the singer the backlash from her performance at Watamu fattened her bank account. In fact, she is in the final stages of purchasing a house in Watamu. Through social media, Akothee spilled she has also been booked to perform for Italian dignitaries.

“Stay around people who love you for you and lights your candle! Roberto invited me for a show in his Hotel in papa Remo for the Valentine’s. Which to Kenyans they thought I was a disgrace, the show trended negatively locally, and trended positively internationally, Kenyans called me a disgrace but Italians called me MADONNA OF KENYA. The show trended positively in Italy and that changed the position of my pocket and a breakthrough in my career, because of this show I will be performing exclusively for Italian dignitaries on the 7th September and I have an invite for another exclusive show in MONACO I am here to finalize the purchase of my new home in Watamu.”

Akothee sent Ezekiel Mutua and other critics a message saying” Someone tell Mutua he was a blessing, I thought you should know that, if you ever fought for me online it has brought blessings.”
