About two weeks ago, rumors abound about the demise of Nigerian veteran reggae singer Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek. Luckily, it turned out to be a hoax.

However, the musician’s manager, Uzoma Omenka, confirmed that Majek was in a critical condition which necessitated his being flown to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in England for medical attention. His manager also revealed that he (Majek) was not in a good place financially, and solicited the help of benevolent Nigerians to help in footing the legend’s medical bills.

It appears that prayer has been answered through Nigerian billionaire and father of DJ Cuppy, Femi Adetola. Confirming the benevolent act, Omenka told Linda Ikeji in a chat,

“We really appreciate him for coming through and taking care of the hospital bills. Its a huge relief and we are grateful. We however still need more support from well-meaning Nigerians to take care of other expenses“.

He encouraged fans of the music icon to continue to keep him in their thoughts and prayers, and also contribute generously to restore the legend back to good health.
