One of the measures that ensures that people are prevented from spreading the dreaded the coronavirus is to isolate people who have contracted the virus and treat them till they’re well.

However a video has surfaced on twitter where a man believed to be COVID-19 positive is seen preventing health officials from conveying him to an isolation centre.

The man apparently harbouring fears of having the virus is heard shouting repeatedly in pigin, “Leave me alone oooo! Anodey go anywhere! I say anodey go anywhere! Leave me ooo! God go punish you!” as he struggles with two fully geared health officials who were carrying him into an ambulance.

A man has raised alarm after sharing a video of an empty isolation center where about 800 coronavirus patients where allegedly kept in Kano State Nigeria.

The man alleged that the supposed isolation center located at Sani Abacha stadium is still under construction and questioned where exactly the government are keeping the patients.

He sarcastically said the novel virus is being used to scam Nigerians and maintained that the only thing Government has been telling them is to wash their hands.

The video, according to the man was filmed on May 24, 2020 at a time when Kano is said to have record 919 cases of the virus.

Nigerian twitter community has showered praises on the Catholic church for donating its 425 hospitals across the country to be used as isolation centers for Coronavirus patients.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, announced on Monday evening that the Catholic church offered all its hospitals and clinics to the government.

“As part of efforts to support the states in the establishment of the isolation and treatment centres, I wish to remind our governors that the Catholic Bishops Conference has volunteered all the 425 hospitals and clinics nationwide for adaptation and use as isolation centres,” Governors are encouraged to please approach Catholic Bishops in their states to access these facilities,” a statement from the church read.

The selfless act has earned the Catholic church admiration on twitter with many hoping other churches follow suit.

The Catholic church in Nigeria has given all of the hospitals in it’s management to the Nigerian government.

They would be used as isolation centres to house coronavirus patients as the west African country race to contain the coronavirus disease in the country.
