Winner of the Big Brother Naija season five, Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon has been honored in his home town of Ipokia with a traditional Chieftaincy title.

The 27-year old rapper was crowned as the Akeweje Odo of Ipokia kingdom in a traditional ceremony held in Ipokia.

Oba Yisa Adesola Olaniyan, the Onipokia of Ipokia whiles conferring the title on him noted that, Laycon has done well and deserve the title by lifting the name of Ipokia and Ogun State high.

He added that, Laycon is an ambassador for the kingdom and a role model for most Nigerian youth.

Laycon took to his social media pages to share photos and videos of the occasion.

In a state of eight months, the “Who is Laycon” EP by winner of Big Brother Naija season five reality show, Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon has reached 20 million streams online.

The musical body of works was released in April, 2020 and a total of 20 million streams have been acrued on the album across various digital platforms.

The rapper took to his verified twitter handle to thank his fans for pushing him that far in his music career.

He noted that, he never expected to hit this milestone within such a short spate of time.

He tweeted: “April 2, 2020, the ‘Who Is Laycon’ EP dropped. My expectations for the project weren’t that much because I was still struggling to be heard at the time plus we had a plan for steady growth Who would have thought the EP would amass 20million+ streams in the space of 8 months.”

The awards ceremony was held in the United States of America yesterday and the 27-year old rapper emerged victorious.

Winner of the Big Brother Naija season five reality show, Olamilekan Agbeleshe famously known as Laycon has requested the support of his followers to help him unmask the identity of his impersonator on Twitter.

The 27-year old rapper made the call after several complains about how the fellow is using a fake account to request monetary favors from unsuspecting followers were made to him.

The call was also necessitated after the fake account made a tweet where it endorsed Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album as the best in Nigeria.

Many fans descended on him thinking it was the real Laycon but those who knew about it came to his rescue and mentioned him under the tweet.
