The husband and family of Marian Awuor Adumbo have been left devastated after the nurse died from coronavirus complications few days after she had been delivered of a baby.

The new mother who worked at the Rachuonyo sub-county Hospital in Homa Bay, died at a Kisii health facility where she was been attended to after she had contracted the deadly viral disease.

A statement from the National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK) revealed that their deceased member was previously admitted at the Homa Bay County Hospital with flu-like symptoms in pregnancy where she tested positive for the coronavirus.

Marian Adumbo reportedly later developed breathing complications and was transferred to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital where a series of tests were done with the initial ones also coming out positive.

The nurse’s condition later deteriorated and she gave birth under much duress. Her condition exacerbated yesterday. She passed on later in the day leaving behind her week-old baby.
