Legendary Nigerian footballer, Nwankwo Kanu is celebrating seventeen years of marriage to his beautiful wife, Amara Kanu.

The former captain of the Super Eagles took to his official Instagram handle to shower his wife with ronantic words.

Kanu wrote in the post:

“17 years strong Happy Anniversary wifey amarakanu I love you. You are what your name is Amara Gods gift and I thank God my dream came true.Cheers to an amazing future #positivevibes #thankgod”

His wife responded by reminiscing about how the former footballer came to her house to tell her about marriage.

The couple got married back in 2003 when the football legend was 28 and his wife was 18. They have three children, two boys and a girl, from their union.

The retired footballer played with several top flight European teams like Ajax Amsterdam where he won 1995 Champions League and Arsenal. He also won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

RMD married his first wife, a journalist May Ellen-Ezekiel (MEE) but, unfortunately, lost her to death in 1996. He then married Jumobi also a TV person and the two have been on this journey of love for a whopping 19 years, something which is so uncommon with most celebrity marriages.
