A 10-year-old schoolgirl has been reported dead after she was reportedly beaten by her teacher for not being able to answer two math problems correct.

The young girl, identified as Zhang, was a student at a primary school in the city of Guangyan, central China. According to reports, her teacher, identified as Wang, beat her on September 10.

Local News Agency reported that Zhang was beaten on her palm four times and ordered t kneel for four minutes. She felt dizzy and was rushed to the hospital by the teacher and her grandmother.

She was pronounced dead at 3:30pm that day. Oriental Daily also reported that Zhang has her ears pulled and head beaten by the teacher.

No wounds were found on her body, Medical experts reported and investigation into her death is ongoing.

The grandmother mentioned to reporters that Zhang was scared of her maths teacher, who she claimed often gave corporal punishment to students. Zhang’s twin sister, who is in the same class as her also added that she looked close to fainting during the beating.

The teacher has however been suspended along with the school’s principal pending investigation.

As shown in the video, management of the private institution located in Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State, Nigeria, has frowned at the closeness between students of opposite sex, thus, the reason for the formulation of the new policy.

A man alleged to be a senior lecturer in the University revealed this in the video.

In his own words, “We have received a directive from the founder. All those girls who are in the habit of coming around boys or holding hands with boys, when we find you doing what we call public display of affection, we will flog you starting from this night
