Celebrated Ghanaian singer/songwriter Kidi was disgraced by a presenter yesterday in a local radio station for appearing for an interview late.

Kidi was booked to have an interview at the studios of local media, Accra FM but came few minutes to the end of the program. The angered presenter invited him into the studio to register his displeasure and mercilessly chastise the artist live on-air.

Although Kidi tried to explain why he was late, the presenter did not give him the opportunity saying “this is the second time the same incident has occurred on his show by the same artist”.

The ‘Sugar’ singer, saddened by the incident apologized for his late coming and walked out of the studio.

Social media users in Ghana have divided in two and the embarrassing moment is being dissected. Fans of the artist think he was ill treated and the presenter had malice intentions for the artist.

Some also believe he got what he deserved and the situation will serve as deterrent for artist who feel bigger than the media or their fans.

Hon. Aponkye, whose real name is Ibrahim Adaabor Issah Ampim, was an aspiring Assembly Member for Adukrom Nima Electoral Area in the just ended Assembly Member elections in Ghana.

Videos of him emerged on social media as he campaigned for his election and listing his campaign promises to electorates if elected into office.

His popularity rose even more when popular Ghanaian TV presenter and broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah interviewed him on GHOne’s State Of Affairs program.

Subsequently, leading up to the election, UTV also interviewed Hon. Aponkye on Okrobeto’s Real New program.

However, Nana Aba has revealed that some Ghanaian presenters and journalists accused her for stooping low by interviewing the aponkye man.

Although Hon. Apokye lost the Assembly Member election, his popularity increased the more as he became the talk of town.

As a result many radio and TV stations hosted him on their shows and granted him several interviews.

But Nana Aba Anamoah has reacted to these happenings. According to her, those presenters and journalists who initially swore that she stooped low by interviewing Hon. Aponkye are now shamelessly chasing after him for interviews.

She said this in a social media post on Twitter that: “Some presenters /journalists swore I stooped low by interviewing Aponkye on SOA.

“Now everyone is chasing him for an interview. What happened? Shameless condescending bunch of people. Moani na ewu.”

Popular comedian Funny Face has pointed accusing fingers at radio presenters in Ghana for plotting to bring him down.

According to the embattled comedian, radio presenters, some of whom he used to feed, were behind the widespread rumours and allegations that he doesn’t last long in bed.

Funny Face made the point in an interview with Adom TV’s Afia Pokua on the Vim Talk show which airs on Adom TV.

He, however, fell short of naming the journalists involved.
