Superstar Diamond Platnumz is currently in Kigoma, Tanzania where he grew up. He is set to perform tonight at the much anticipated New Year’s concert which is also his homecoming show.

Diamond is celebrating 10 years in the music industry; 10 years that saw him grow from a local bongo artist to an internationally revered star.
He travelled to Kigoma with his girlfriend Tanasha Donna and their son via the Kigoma train. The train ride to his hometown was a whole party. There was music from singers and instrumentalists playing the drums. The travelers all danced and made merry as they awaited their arrival.

Upon landing at the train station in Kigoma, Diamond was received with Kigoma elders and a crowd larger than one could imagine. The reception was larger than any political rally or several paid concerts. It was even bigger that the crowds that show up for Kanye West’s Sunday Service performances!

“Another shot of my reception yesterday when arriving at the train station in Kigoma for my Homecoming show… I’m so humbled and grateful Kigoma. I can’t wait for the show at Lake Tanganyika stadium tomorrow,” Diamond wrote on Instagram upon his arrival.

Tanzania now has two major parties tonight. The Kigoma Festival featuring Diamond and Vanessa Mdee’s concert which will also feature musician and actor Rotimi. It’s a good day to be in Tanzania. Happy New Year!

A Nigerian couple recently became the topic of discussion across several social media platforms after a photo of their wedding invitation surfaced on the internet.

It is a common tradition for wedding ceremonies in this part of the world to often start from a religious setting to a more relaxed environment where guests would be lavishly treated to food, drinks and music.

However, for a Nigerian man identified as Adewale Yussuf and his bride Blessing Ijeoma, the case was completely different from what many of their friends may have been looking forward to.

The couple boldly pointed out that there would be no reception for their matrimonial ceremony after the church activities have been concluded.

Spotted on the lower third of the viral wedding invitation, is an instruction that boldly read: “No reception”.

In a twist of event, even when the couple had both come to a mutual understanding that there would be no party, the husband via an Instagram post disclosed that some close friends and colleagues from work treated them to a surprise reception party.
