Selena Gomez has shared some photos to inspire her fans on Instagram and to also open up about the scars she got as a result of her kidney transplant.

The award winning singer wore a blue zip-up bathing suit and posed to show a long scar on her right leg. She described her journey to survive and gave shout out to her friends for supporting.

“When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that. T – Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that…all bodies are beautiful..” She wrote.

Some celebrities get away with visiting other countries without the paparazzi being on their tail. Selena Gomez is one of after coming to Kenya pretty much unnoticed.

Selena posted several pictures from the wild in Kenya yesterday on her Instagram page. She also explained a bit about what she was doing in the country; and it’s not vacationing.

“I will share many stories and voices that need to be heard. We are working on something so special that will hopefully change so many lives. The We Movement is a nonprofit organization that gives back to communities through various charitable works. It seems like Selena has been working on a project with the organization in Kenya. We can’t wait to hear more about it and see the results.
