A photo of a 5-year old girl, Shaniya Davis, has been trending on twitter since a twitter user shared her sad story of how her mother traded her to pay her debt.

Shaniya, who would have been 15-years this year. was sold to pay off a $200 drug debt her mother owed one Mario Adrette McNeill, her story said.

She was sexually assaulted and murdered and her body was found by the country side.

Reports say her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis is serving a sentence of 17½ years and Mario Adrette McNeill is on death row.
