Two men who killed a motorcyclist in Ogun State, Nigeria have been arrested by the police while arguing over how to share the proceeds from the sale of the machine.

The suspects, Lekan Odusote, 27-years-old and Monday John, 22, reportedly lured the deceased to an isolated area in Ikangba vicinity of Obalende in Ijebu-Ode before flinging his life out of him.

PRO for the police in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi, revealed this in a statement today, stating that the body of the victim was buried in a shallow grave in an uncompleted building by his killers. He disclosed that the suspects were arrested while arguing over how to share the N120,000, which the victim’s motorcycle was sold for.

He said that this led to a serious altercation between the suspects and some of their pronouncements ignited the suspicion of the people nearby, who informed the police.

Mr. Oyeyemi further said that on interrogation, the two confessed to luring the motorcyclist to a deserted area where they killed him and took into ownership the motorcycle which they sold; the sharing formula of the proceeds had caused the altercation.

The suspects then led the police to the scene of the crime where the victim was buried, and the corpse has been recovered and taken to the mortuary for postmoterm examination.
