A group of animal scientists have successfully harvested eggs from the last two remaining white rhinos in Kenya. The move, the first in its kind has been done to save the species from extinction.

Poaching has reduced the white rhinos population to only two females

The eggs would be fertilised from the sperms of the last male rhino, Sudan who died in March last year. The procedure has been welcomed by many conservative activists.

Severe poaching and loss of habitats has pushed the white rhinos population to near extinction. It is highly hopeful the move will reverse this unfortunate trend.

The team of German, Czech and Kenya scientists conducted the procedure
