“Last year we spent around 60 million on billboards to get the name “Sapphire Scents” everywhere but this year the strategy changed to getting our products everywhere. To make your brand the number one seller and the preferred choice everywhere will cost money, there is something called the “cost of business” you have to be careful otherwise you will spend a lot of money and you won’t see a dime.

He said within the six brand ambassadors, they have an audience of 15.4 million people and that influencer marketing on social media is the most effective way to promote one’s brand since it’s effective in the monitoring of progress.

He added that advertising on billboards and TV may go wide but checking its process is difficult but on social media, once someone is interested, you get a message on WhatsApp or dm.

He advised his fellow businessmen to do their brands’ favour by getting brand ambassadors or social media influencers. He, however, admonished them to do so only if their business is ready for it.

#InspirationMonday Many people wonder why we have so many brand ambassadors. In Nigeria today, we have the highest number of brand ambassadors and its a deliberate strategy and today I will tell you the rationale behind the strategy. Last year we spent around 60 million on billboards to get the name "Sapphire Scents" everywhere but this year the strategy changed to getting our products everywhere. To make your brand the number one seller and the preferred choice everywhere will cost money, there is something called the "cost of business" you have to be careful otherwise you will spend a lot of money and you won't see a dime. This is where influencer marketing comes to play. At the moment we have 6 Brand Ambassadors under Sapphire Group; 1. @tontolet 4.7m 2. @regina.daniels 5m 3. @ceec_official 1.9m 4. @iamteddya 940k 5. @williamsuchemba 1.9m 6. @thechefchi 1m Between our 6 brand ambassadors there is an audience of 15.4 million people! Thats seven times bigger than Instablog without the hateful comments, this is an audience like half the size of Lagos but the good thing is they are based all over the world! If we get 5% of these people to patronise us we are good! As time goes by the numbers increase, it is a game of numbers and influence. Another thing that struck me last year was when Instagram shared our best 9 pictures 3 of those pictures came from @tontolet and it was seen by 43 million people! Influencer marketing on social media is the most effective way to promote your brand and the most beautiful part is you can monitor the progress! A billboard is static and you can't monitor how many people see your advert, TV may go wide but you still can't monitor the progress but on social media once someone is interested you get a message on WhatsApp or dm! Do your brand a favour, get an influencer or brand ambassador, this decision will take you to the next level but make sure your brand is ready, we didn't get a brand ambassador until 2018, 3 years after Sapphire Scents started. Tag someone who should read this. You too can be a social media evangelist. Please share so that others can be blessed as you have been blessed. #ThankYouJesus
