Kenyan comedian, TV host and MC Chipukeezy just announced his exit from Ebru TV’s Chipukeezy Show. The comedian and director of NACADA took to social media to candidly explain why he terminated his contract with the popular TV channel. In brief, he claims to terminate his contract after being forced to terminate fellow colleague Kartelo’s contract based on reasons that the comedian did not seem fair.

According to Chipukeezy, Ebru TV wanted him to terminate his collaboration with comedian and entertainer Kartelo because the show had started featuring youthful acts who make it more Ghetto. I guess Ebru TV wanted a little less ghetto in their show. In particular, they suggested for Chipukeezy to try and interview more politicians and a few corporate executives.

“For as much as I respect their request or rather decision, I would like to categorically state that i feel my calling and mission could just be the exact opposite. My passion, desire and mission is to LIFT the youth of this country. I feel like God has offered me an opportunity to create a platform for these young people who are mostly from the slams and majorly disadvantaged,” said Chipukeezy.

Chipukeezy promised that he was not going to stop working with Kartelo among other young talented Kenyans. Despite exiting his show on Ebru TV, he vowed to continue the show with Kartelo and many other artists on different platforms to be communicated at a later time. He thanked Ebru TV for the opportunity and support.
