Nigerian Human Rights Activist, Soworo Is Sick And Is Being Denied Treatment In Detention

Omoyele Sowore is a Nigerian human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner, former presidential candidate, and founder of online news agency Sahara Reporters. On August 3, 2019, Sowore was arrested by Nigeria DSS for treason allegation after calling for a protest tagged RevolutionNow.

He is the leader of a protest dubbed RevolutionNow, a series of planned protests against bad governance in Nigeria scheduled for August 5, 2019.

Since his arrest on August 3rd, 2019, by the Department of State Security Service (DSS), he has been in detention and reports from politicsNigeria states that, he is being denied treatment after reporting sick whiles in detention.

Political activist Adeyanju, in a statement via his Facebook page, revealed that Sowore was not in good health. He wrote; “Just got news about Sowore. He is sick and they are denying him medical care. Is this fair? Sowore is a hero. How can you treat the nation’s heroes this way then give Bandits & terrorists VIP treatments? #FreeSowore
