Meet The Man Behind Mara Heist – The Biggest University Corruption Scandal In Kenya This Year

Maasai Mara University is a Corruption Free Zone. That’s what you first see on a sign board as you enter Maasai Mara University. Thanks to Citizen TV’s expose on the mega corruption scandal at Mara University dubbed as Mara Heist, Kenyans and the world now know that Mara University and Corruption have been an item for quite some time. According to the expose, a whooping 190 million shillings give or take was looted from the University.

The lead whistleblower in the case was Mara University’s Senior Accountant Spencer Sankale. He was applauded by many Kenyans for his bravery and candor in spilling the beans on a scandal as huge as this. Mr. Sankale who directly handled Maasai Mara University finances for 3 years confessed that it took him 1 year to get to know the corrupted financial flow that included the theft of public resources.

Thanks to Mr. Sankale’s candid statement and investigation which was backed by fellow employees from the university, the corruption at the Narok based University can be properly dealt with using the right channels. Maybe from now henceforth the University will actually remain a corruption free zone.
