I Will Become Broke If I Give All My Money To My Friends! – Comedian AY Cries Out
In most African countries, once you attain a certain level of success, and most especially if you happen to be in the public eye, you are automatically expected to provide the needs of everyone you know, including their pets and their grandmothers.

Once you fail to meet a particular person’s needs, because of course, you can’t please everyone, you become the villain and choice words like “stingy” and sometimes even “wicked” are hurled at you. It can get really frustrating sometimes, especially when people continue to overestimate how much you actually have.
Nigerian comedian, Ayodeji Richard Makun, better known by his stage name, AY, has had enough of this parasitic attitude and has taken to social media to vent. According to him, it’s only in Nigeria that your “1million Naira will attract 20 friends and family with 100k problems each”, and he cannot kill himself to please everyone.
He also insists that the fact that there’s a saying that “givers never lack” doesn’t mean one should lack common sense. A pretty confusing statement, but yes, we get the point.
