It’s Official, Singer Adele Files For Divorce From Husband

It’s been about four months since Adele announced she had separated with the husband.

And now Adele has officially filed for a divorce from the father of her 6-year-old son. Court documents filed by the 31-year-old singer on Thursday, September 12, in Los Angeles confirmed she had split with Simon Konecki.

The two had split due to a shift in lifestyles prompted by Adele’s busy schedule as she rose to fame, which prompted them to grow apart after 8 years of being together.

Adele acknowledged the separation publicly for the first time in May 2019, by posting a meme, to the delight of her followers:

Reports however indicated that the couple would co-parent their son. “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy,” Adele’s representative said.

It seems Adele has embraced her single life and loving herself all the way. She made a post on her official Instagram in May this year which indicates she’s focused on showing love to herself:

The Grammy winner met Konecki, a charity executive, in 2011 and the two secretly married more than two years ago and later welcomed their son Angelo in 2012.

The Tottenham-born star only confirmed their union in 2017 when she referred to herself as a married woman during a concert.
