People Are Getting Married Just Because They Are Envious Of Other People’s Weddings – Oyemykke

People are getting married for all the wrong reasons these days. It’s a norm now for young couples to organize elaborate weddings they can’t afford only to end up in debt.

There have been reports of couples getting divorced when they have not even finished paying for their weddings. People like Afia Schwarzenegger have gone as far as allegedly taking bank loans to organize the wedding of their dreams.

CEO of the Oyemykke Show has weighed in on this phenomenon. The UK-based Nigerian Youtube host says though he’s not a fan of weddings, he’s beginning to understand why more people are obsessed with them.

Posting on his Instagram page, he wrote, “I am not the type of guy that usually goes for weddings because it’s a bit mushy & emotional so I always stay clear whenever I’m invited. But on this day, as I sat in the car watching these beautiful bride & groom, I started to understand why a lot of women are so engrossed in the idea of Wedding more than marriage in itself.

It’s so easy to be envious of the joy that these beautiful couple shared on that day. I also understood much why parents take Weddings so personal & it’s solely because of the Joy that comes with this day.
