This is a shocking true story of two sisters who have been eating bar soap since their childhood. According to their mother, Sharon Chepchirchir, 24 and Lidia Chepkemboi, 17, the girls have an insatiable appetite for soap.
“I don’t know why I eat soap but I enjoy it. I discovered my appetite for soap when I was 5 years old,” said Sharon. She also added that she’s never had any stomach upsets, mouth irritation or other health problems from eating soap.

Sharon also surprisingly admitted that she never knew her sister also had the same appetite for soap. “My younger sister lived with my aunt and we rarely met. One day I noticed she had a bar of soap in her pocket. I asked why and she said that she eats soap. This brought us closer because now we borrow soap from one another.
The girls seem to be in good health despite eating soap for several years. According to their mother, they have both tried to stop but have failed. She even spent Sh. 10,000 on prayers and divine intervention but the soap addiction remains.
“Eating soap has never affected my health. If I can’t get a bar of soap, I lick powder soap,” the girls from Nandi county both said. Doctors recommend the girls seeing medical specialists to determine the cause of the condition.
