The “Dancehall King”, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known by his stage name Shatta Wale is a Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artist.
Who would have thought that the controversial dancehall king would one day have political ambitions to become Ghana’s president?
At best every Ghanaian knows that Shatta Wale is the president of the Shatta Movement (SM); a name given to his fans. And that’s about it.

However, the SM boss revealed in an interview with Paul Adom-Otchere on Good Evening Ghana last month that he might one day delve into politics.
Unsurprisingly, Ghanaians have responded to this with some making calls for Shatta to be president of Ghana.

It emerged that one Ghanaian DJ- DJ Slash, had started campaigning for the SM president to become the president of Ghana.
Upon receiving the news, Shatta Wale reacted with shock and appreciation at the same time.
He said: “Somebody just sent this to me [referencing the news item of the campaign] … Omg 😳!!! Are Ghanaians really fed up like that eeeiiii? Anyway thank you DJ slash for believing in me.”
