A plane crash reported to have happened in Congo claimed 26 human lives including people on board and on the ground.

The 16 passenger plane as reported by Reuters crashed shortly after takeoff on Sunday.

Joseph Makundi, the coordinator of rescue services in Goma, told Reuters that 27 bodies had been recovered from the rubble, including those of several people hit by falling debris.
