Russia has been handed a four years ban from participating in any sporting event by the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada).

Russia has been found guilty of many doping scandals since a 2015 report commissioned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) found evidence of mass doping in Russian athletics.

As part of the ban, Russia may not host any major events for four years, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This also means that Russia won’t be partaking in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and football’s 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
WADA however gave immunity to athletes who can prove not to be part of the doping scandals to participate in any event under a neutral flag.
