Pageantry in the foreign world used to be for only white people until recently when their rules allowed the black women to participate.

Historically, these years pageantry saw many black women emerging the winners of the most enviable crowns, some of which are Toni-Ann Singh, Miss World, along with 2019 Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, 2019 Miss Teen USA Kaliegh Garris, 2019 Miss America Nia Franklin, and 2019 Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi.

Coincidentally, Ghana, the gateway to Africa is celebrating its Year of Return which encourages all descendants to return to their home country to reunite with their families and also promote investment activities.
‘The aim is to promote Ghana as a tourist destination and investment opportunity. This year marks the 400-year anniversary of the first enslaved Africans’ arrival in Jamestown in the US. The Year of Return represents an effort to “unite Africans on the continent with their brothers and sisters in the diaspora’
The history made by these young black women will help put Africa on the map especially now that Ghana’s Year of Return has duly and virally taken off.
