Ghanaians Tuesday morning turned sorrowful as thirty-four people died with many others injured in a gruesome accident that happened at 12:15 am, on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway as reported by the Ghana police Service Division at Takoradi.
One state bus that was coming from Accra to Takoradi collided with another bus that was also going to Accra from Takoradi at Dompoase, an environ of Takoradi, according to the police reports.
It was reported by the Takoradi Divisional Police Command that, 29 people died on the spot whilst five others died at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital after been rushed to the emergency unit of the hospital.
This brought the entire country into a sorrowful mood as many prominent people and institutions have expressed their heart warmth messages to the deceased families.
The first gentleman of the state; Ghana: President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo has also expressed his condolence message to the families of the deceased on his twitter handle and it reads: “My sympathies and condolences go to all the families and loved ones of the deceased in the horrific accident on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway, which occurred earlier today. May their souls Rest In Peace. I also wish the injured, a speedy recovery”.
