The cause of Rocky Johnson’s death was not revealed at the time of announcing his death.
However, in a video (WATCH the video here), Dwayne Johnson has opened up about the cause of his father’s death and used the opportunity to thank his loved ones and well wishers for their support.
Dwayne disclosed that many have asked to know what caused his father death. So speaking after thanking his supporters profusely, he said: “he had not been feeling well and have been battling with a cold and infection.”

According to the medical examiner who performed the autopsy, it was clear and very evidenced of what happened. And my question was: was he in pain? Did he go quick or was it draw-out?
He said he was told he [his father] went fast and quick. And he added that it gave him great comfort knowing that it wasn’t prolonged.
Dwayne explained that the reason it gave him great comfort was that even though he didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to his old man for the last time, he had already been through a lot of pain for a very long time and now that he is no more in pain, it make him happy.
He also used the opportunity to share some fond memories of his dad and as well shared some nuggets of advise to people.
