Reacting to the statement, Kwame Asare Obeng, who is popularly known as A Plus, lauded the government for the swift move to call for an inquiry into the matter.

However, A Plus demanded that the order to investigate the aribus bribery allegations should not be used a cover up for scandals happening under the current government.

The following are A Plus’ reaction to the statement from the Presidency regarding the airbus bribery scandal:

Great move. I’m very happy how swiftly government has released a statement that the special prosecutor is going to “promptly” investigate the Boeing corruption scandal. Many criminals in the previous government are walking free and making noise in this country. They must be brought to justice.

However, I will also like to remind the government that, this airbus issue is not an opportunity to cover up all the scandals happening currently. 600.000 liters of fuel evaporated in this country, no one released a statement to that effect. Four hundred aboboyaa (tricycles) went through the full process of evolution, developed wings and flew to the land of the unknown.

Five hundred excavators have vamoosed into thin air without anybody noticing. To steal an excavator you need an articulator truck and men directing the driver; masa bra bra bra yet no one in any assembly where the excavators were supposed to be kept knows how they vanished.

According to Hon Kennedy Agyapong, a senior member of the NPP and a member of parliament, those appointed by the president to stop galamsey are the same people who stole the confiscated gold and excavators.

Also, according to the forestry commission, led by a senior member of the NPP and a government official, Sir John, NPP big men are now the new galamsey kingpins and are destroying forest reserves. Hon Kennedy Agyapong even stated that, Professor Frimpong Boateng must be held responsible and sacked by the president.

These are equally serious allegations which deserve a statement from government and an investigation just as has been swiftly done in the Airbus scandal.

If you know your bible well, 1 Peter 4:17 says that God shall begin his judgment from his own house.

This Airbus scandal is a very serious one and all those involved must be prosecuted but as a government which is so religious that it is building a cathedral to the “glory of God”, please be like your father in heaven. Start from your own house.
