Court Grants Iyanya N20 Million Bail Over Car Theft Allegation

Nigerian musician Iyanya has been granted a Twenty Million Naira bail over alleged car theft leveled against him.

According to Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji, the Igabosere High Court presided over by Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu-Ighile ordered Iyanya to produce a surety in the like sum, who should also have landed (tangible) property in Lagos with Certificate of Occupancy.

The Justice on Thursday, February 27, 2020, also warned the Singer to perfect the bail conditions in seven days or it will be revoked.

The Judge adjourned Iyanya’s trail till May 27 and 28 2020.

Reports have it that on March 15, 2019, the Nigerian Police filed a one-court charge marked LD/9024c/2019 against Iyanya. His charge was read to him when he appeared in court on February 2, 2020.

It went on to say that Prosecution counsel, Superintendent of Police (Sp), Mr. Chukwu Agwu, alleged that Iyanya committed the offense sometime in September 2018.

SP Agwu also told the court that the said stolen car, a Black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Sports Utility Vehicle, belonged to The Temple Management Company Ltd, represented by a lawyer, Ayodeji Olomoji.
