Charterhouse Breaks Silence On Why Wendy Shay’s ‘Stevie Wonder’ Wasn’t Nominated For This Year’s VGMA

Rufftown Records signee, Wendy Ado who is popularly known in the entertainment circle as Wendy Shay was in the news following her backlash on Charter House, organizers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for sidelining her song ‘Stevie Wonder’ for nominations.

The organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in a quick response to the diva’s cry has cleared the air with tangible reasons why Wendy Shay’s ‘Steve Wonder’ song was not nominated.

According to the PRO for Charterhouse, Robert Klah, Wendy Shays collaborative piece with Shatta Wale was a classic piece but the song per vivid reasons needs not to be nominated since it featured Shatta Wale who’s not qualified to participate in the nominations.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the PRO for Chaterhouse, Robert Klah elaborated that, “Songs that featured Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were not eligible for nominations in the VGMA because those acts have been banned from the scheme”

Robert further added that, ” The issue about the collaboration, there are two things: It is meant to consider not just one artistes. If one of the artistes is illegible to participate, they wouldn’t get a nomination.”
