COVID -19: Nigeria Jumps To 22 Confirmed Cases

Three of the new cases were confirmed at the Federal capital Territory whiles the seven were also confirmed at the Lagos state.

Nigeria as of 21st March 2020 has recorded 22 confirmed cases of the dreadful Corona Virus(COVID-19).

The country had 11 confirmed cases until today when the number spiked to 22 with ten new cases being added. Three of the new cases were confirmed at the Federal capital Territory whiles the seven were also confirmed at the Lagos state.

All ten new cases are Nigerian Nationals who have a history to Canada, France, Spain, etc with the tenth case being a close contact of one of the previously confirmed cases. Nigeria has so far as a precautionary measure ban travellers from some thirteen countries including the US and UK who have also been recorded as having the disease.

The Federal Ministry of Health has also advised self-isolation as a way of reducing the spread of the disease. Out of the twenty-two confirmed cases as of today, two is reported to have been discharged with no death recorded yet.

The Ministry have assured citizens of its continued importance to reducing the spread of this pandemic as they aim at better management of the affected persons.
