Iconic Country Musician Kenny Rogers Dies At 81

Three time Grammy Award winning Country-pop legend, Kenny Rogers has been confirmed dead. He was 81.

His family announced early Saturday morning that the multi-platinum singer ‘passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family’.

Kenny Rogers is known for his signature gruff yet enchanting voice and has over 24 number-one hits in his six decade career. He was nominated 19 times at the Academy Awards which he has three to his credit and has been named a six-time Country Music Association winner.

The country music pioneer will be remembered for great songs like The Gambler, Lucile and Lady, making hims a superstar in the 70’s and 80’s.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, his family will hold a small private service to celebrate his life and legacy but look forward to hold a public memorial service at a later date, a statement by SKH Music said.

He is survived by his wife and four children.
