COVID-19: Nigeria Records First Death
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed Nigeria’s first death from COVID-19.

According to the Control Center, the deceased is a 67 year old male who returned from medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
Reports identify the man as Suleiman Achimugu, a former managing director of the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company.

A statement from the Nigerian Center for Disease Control indicated that Suleiman Achimugu had ‘underlying medical conditions – multiple myeloma and diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy.’
Nigeria now has 36 confirmed, 33 active, 2 discharged and 1 death case of the COVID-19.
