Another Virus Discovered In China – 32 Suspected Cases With One Feared Dead

A report from Global Times has indicated that another virus has surfaced in China.

A man from Yunnan in China died in a public transport after testing positive for the virus known as Hantavirus.

The report also revealed that all 32 passengers onboard the bus were tested for the virus.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Hantavirus is a family of viruses that are spread by rodents and can cause varied diseases in people.

The virus is not airborne but can be spread when humans come into contact with feces, urine or saliva of rodents. It is rare for the virus to be transmitted from person-person.

It can cause hantivirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) and haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).
