COVID-19: Lockdown In Accra And Kumasi Extended By A Week

Government has reviewed the lockdown imposed on some parts of Ghana and extended the coronavirus induced Lockdown by seven days ,subjected to review.

President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo once again addressed the nation last night on measures his office is taking to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

A two-weeks partial lockdown in Great Accra Municipality and Greater Kumasi Municipality was announced by the president in his 4th address as a measure taken against the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In his latest address H.E Nana Akufo-Addo said the extension of the partial lockdown will take place from Monday, April 13, 2020 and will be subjected to review.

“The decision has been taken through the issuance of another executive instrument to extend the restriction of movements in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area and Kasoa and the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area and its contiguous districts by one more week beginning 1am on Monday the 13th of April, subject to review,” he said.
