Just In: President Buhari’s Personal Bodyguard Is Dead
Warrant Officer Lawal Mato, a personal bodyguard to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has died.
Statements released by the Presidency says he passed on Tuesday after battling diabetes.

In the statement released by Senior Special Assistant to the President, Mato was described as ‘Very thorough,trustworthy and dependable soldier who carried out his duty with diligence and focus.’

It further revealed that Mato has been working with President Buhari before he won the 2015 elections and was part of a team that former President Umaru Musa Yar’adua restored to President Buhari as personal security.
WO Mato had been off full duty for three years treating diabetes till his death today.
