Formal Education Is Not Always Key To Success – Toke Makinwa Shares Wisdom

Popular Nigerian On-Air-Personality, Toke Makinwa has poured out some words of wisdom to parents on how to train up a child when growing.

On will Say Toke is unmarried and not a mother, but life has a way of teaching lessons to people so the advice she gave was fit for the occasion.

Toke Makinwa was reacting to a viral video of an agitated parent beating his son after paying huge sum of money to have him enrolled in school only for the child to skip some examination papers and fail most of his courses.

Sharing her experience on Twitter, Toke opined to parents that allowing your child follow their passion under strict guidance is the sure way to success.

She added that formal education is a necessity but not a guarantee to success, schooling the mind rather is the true key.

Letting your kids follow their passion but with strict guidance is key, I don’t necessarily think education by book/classroom a must to success, but education of the mind, exposure, opportunities, going to school is great, it teaches you discipline but schooling your mind is key

The popular media personality revealed she was not always a bright child. She disclosed that she often skipped class and had difficult studying but encouragement from her mum raised her into the celebrity she is now.

I was tough to raise, I suffered from PTSD that wasn’t dealt with early enough it manifested in different areas, I didn’t apply myself to my books, skipped classes and was advised to withdraw, today I thank God Big mummy didn’t give up on me, she wasn’t the easiest but I am here
