70-Year-Old Man Arrested And Jailed For Insulting Buhari
A court in Katsina has sentenced Lawal Izala, a 70-year-old man, to 18 months imprisonment for insulting President Muhammadu Buhari and other state governors.
The suspect, Lawal Izala and two others were arrested heavily criticizing the state governor and the President of Nigeria amid insults in a viral video on social media.

They were arrested and later arraigned before court on Tuesday where Lawal Izala was found guilty of two-count charges of inciting violence and disrespect for civil authority.
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment for the first count and a year for the other charge with an option of N30,000 fine for both charges.

Lawal Izala confessed to the press after his judgement that he spoke out of anger and has regretted his act.
